Getting to the drive-child family

Traveling with children by Sweden can be an exciting adventure with fun experiences together and lots of fun memories for the rest of their lives. Or it could be a stressful and tedious experience. Here is some advice for the family to be out on the road.

1st Children's Influence

Let the children be involved in planning the trip, decide which end should be done and certain options. Would you rather stay, assembly and watch the candy cane production than do stop in Brahehus and see the ruins? Democracy (in moderate doses) is a winning recipe in the family with children and it is obviously much more fun if you yourself got to be with and decide.

2nd Assume that no smudging

if you originally packed for someone may become carsick, spilling drink on your lap or unable to stay until they stopped at a toilet, then worry so much less if it would actually happen. Pack a bag, towels and towel so it can usually be solved temporarily until the family is there and the car can be cleaned out before the next turn.

3rd Stories on CD

This is almost too easy, but the other part so well that the guide would be bad if it did not mention it. Buy a disc or borrow fairy-CDs at the library. Many modern bilstereors also capable of playing MP3 files, which makes it easier if you burn a disc at home with a whole series of stories on.

4th Stop often

pack with a ball and swimming trunks and make a stop when the weather and surroundings permit. Children get tired of sitting still for too long and with a few quick stops where they get out and move it becomes a lot less complaints from the backseat.

5th Travel diary

fit in the car to write down the family's shared experience of the previous stop. An adult writes and compiles everyone's comments and it can be a pretty funny story about what each family member thinks is worth telling the world about "stop at Aunt Astrid" or "stop at First Camp Karlstad". Fota diligently and also associate the images to the stories, it becomes even more vivid memories when you return to the diary.

6th Surprises

a "Lattjo Laban box" with stickers (preferably the kind that you simply attach the window box, and then just as easily pick off), small maze game (ball will roll after a course and reach its target), drawing paper and pencils, plastic animals and figures, a long travel infinitely shorter. Ideally, the father or mother to have the order of the box so that you can portion out the surprises at the right pace. Family Album with photos from previous trips or photos of friends and relatives to be visited can be popular, as are readings of previous travel journals (see paragraph 5).

7th Picnic

pack small sandwiches, boiled eggs, drink and a thermos of coffee and do a "tour stop" instead of always staying at roadside restaurants. The kids think picnics are much more fun and they do not have to wait for your food, wait in line, sit still and everything else that is so much sadder than eating outdoors or at a rest stop.
